Where we are

The University of Western Australia is a beautiful sandstone university on the Matilda Bay foreshore of the Swan River with two popular garden ceremony locations.

The Sunken Gardens is an intimate and beautifully landscaped, amphitheatre surrounded by gardens, ponds and terraced lawns that has been a popular location for ceremonies since the 1940s.

The Tropical Gardens is an lush, intimate setting comprising a circle of palm trees around a sandy ceremonial space.

Holding your ceremony on campus also gives you access to the University’s grounds for wedding photos (normally $95.00). Winthrop Hall is not available for weddings and no indoor/wet weather venues are available on campus, so please bear this in mind when booking a garden ceremony.

Make bookings through the University Club of Western Australia.
