Our Favourite 2015 Wedding at Margaret River Farm

As a wedding photographer I get to attend A LOT of weddings. And I mean A LOT. An average of 40 weddings a year. Most people probably attend that many in their entire lifetime.

I know I’m not supposed to play favourites but Lucy and Mathew’s wedding really is one of my favourites from 2015. I’m a big fan of animals. If you’re bringing your pets to the wedding, I’ll be there with bells on. This one had animals by the truckloads. Horses, dogs, even their pet kangaroo made a brief appearance. And they weren’t hidden away in some shed away from guests’ eyes, they were front and centre; you couldn’t miss them. Lucy and Mathew wanted to have their wedding where they grew up, on their family property, which happens to be an equestrian centre where they raise horses. I just love a wedding on family land. There’s so much history on every square inch of the place, and to marry your life partner on that same land adds so much to the richness of your wedding.

We’re Jimmy + Shona, husband + wife, with one fur-child since 2012 and a human child since 2015. We love all things weddings because we believe in it. A wedding isn’t just about the styling, or the dress, or the venue. It’s about the start of something way more beautiful than all those: MARRIAGE.
