DIY Wood & String Seating Chart

"Tetris with emotions" – that's how Elizabeth Clayton sums up table planning. It's one of the final tasks to be completed before the wedding and it's always a struggle to mix and match friends and families on either side without causing offence or discomfort.

The final objective  – to bring order to the chaos, neatly dividing everyone into mutually compatible little groups of six to eight people. Or at least, it should be. That’s why we loved seating board from Dave and Chelsey’s wedding – visually it seems to be both structured and untidy, deliberate yet arbitrary, which seems to just about sum up the whole seat planning experience for the bride and groom.

Dave and Chelsey’s shared these photos with us of the process that went into making the seating plan. You can purchase all of the materials from craft stores and Bunnings.
