Loving the Floral Crown at Becky & Adam’s Wedding on the Darlington Estate

Becky—with her awesome floral crown and bohemian-style wedding dress, and Adam—looking sharp with the boys—tied the knot at the Darlington Estate Winery last November. I think it must have been the shortest ceremony I’ve ever attended, leaving us heaps of time for photos around the estate! With a couple this good looking it was all just too easy.

Becky and Adam wanted the rustic feel, with plenty of bright flowers in a natural setting, they said that they didn’t want something too “elegant” or “wedding-y”, but still beautiful of course.

Lynda from Affair with a Flair nailed that vision with ideas like the hanging baby’s breath in glass bowls, and the ladder with the floral pots and table numbers. Lynda was also trusted with the floral arrangements leaving the couple with no idea of what they were going to get on the day,  although they did particularly love peppercorn, and so that was hung all over the venue and the arbor.

Beck and Adam really loved the venue, with Becky saying, “Surrounded by tall trees in a natural setting, it was far enough out of Perth to feel as if we were in the middle of nowhere in our own magical world, where we could all embrace love, forget our troubles and dance the night away.” She also says that the staff at Darlington Estate were so attentive throughout the evening, and helped them to create the care free, fun, natural atmosphere they were after.

Becky came down the aisle to slow, acoustic version of “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” performed by Bourne Entertainment and it was such a great way to start the ceremony! (Can’t go wrong with a track like that!)

Rose & Violet designed the amazing candy buffet and cake, decorated with matching flowers by Lynda. The candy buffet came with sweet little takeaway boxes for guests to fill up.

The couple wanted a big party, doing their first dance as the entered the reception and getting everyone up to join in halfway through. Adam’s a kiwi, so there was plenty of fun Australia vs New Zealand banter flying during the wedding speeches. Sitting everyone down the long tables encourage people to get up, mingle, and hit the dancefloor throughout the meal.
